Autism Global Summit 2026 India (AGS 2026) has grown from a grassroots movement of parents in Kolkata into an international platform for autistic rights, inclusion, participation and action. Building on the Autism Convention Kolkata 2024 and 2025, our work addresses autism as a lifelong human rights and social justice issue, alongside health, education, economic security, legal protection, housing and community participation.

We believe autistic people have the right to autonomy, self-determination, dignity, equality, accessibility and meaningful participation in all aspects of life.

Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Gol Park, is a landmark cultural and educational institution of Kolkata, with a rich heritage spanning several decades.

Since its establishment in 1938, it has served as a centre for learning, scholarship, cultural exchange and dialogue, carrying forward the universal ideals associated with Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda.

ABLEISM

Autistic people are not problems to be fixed.

AGS rejects discrimination based on degree of disability, including the assumption that intelligence, speech, independence or productivity determine a person's worth.

We Believe

Every person has dignity.

Every person has needs.

Every person has rights.

AGEISM

Autism does not end at childhood.

AGS rejects the tendency to make autism primarily a children's issue while overlooking adolescents, adults and older autistic people.

WE BELIEVE

Support across the lifespan - from childhood to adulthood and beyond.

TOKENISM

Nothing about us should happen without meaningful participation.

AGS rejects using autistic people merely as symbols, photographs, inspirational stories or ceremonial representatives without giving them meaningful voice, choice and influence.

WE BELIEVE

Representation must have substance.

Participation must have power.
